Malabati’s father is a small farmer & mother is a house wife. Her family consisting of 5 members lives in an own mud house in the village named Lowakui in Baghmundi Block, Purulia, West Bengal. Her elder brother is working and also studying in a local school. Malabati is a studious girl. Previously she used to study in Baghmundi Girls’ School. Having passed the Primary standard with good results, further studies were constrained due to financial conditions of the family. She was sponsored by LI and admitted to Bundwan Girls’ High School where she is studying in class VII. She wants to become a nurse in future. She likes her present school and has developed good friendships with other class mates. The hostel superintendent has taken a liking for the child. She has got 75% marks in Mathematics in the second terminal exam.
